Grrrrr...ATENEO WHY?

ATENEO WHY?

The prolonged agony...of squirming for vacation is irritating me. Even in classes, where me and my classmates shamelessly yawn and wait with our drooping eyes and hangdog expressions for the bell to ring.

Christmas break is fast approaching, and as of this writing, 4 days to go and Iligan again! I can't wait to see my family and friends, to see how they are, and how they changed for the better.

I hope they're still eager to see me though, even if I'm a blue eagle now (True blue Atenista kasi). :))

Also as of this writing, I've finished my series of concertos present in my contract and aced all my exams (as vendetta to my poor performance last sem). I'm happy that I finally adjusted in this so-called Ateneo life, and I hope I'll have my best years to come here.

Thanks to Blue Symphony for an epic concerto, my blockmates for the (overwhelming) support, my family and friends, to FCC for the wonderful christmas party, and to the Lord for making my 2010 the best year that it is. :D

Iligan, here I come! :)

After All I had done (2010)

Back to the blogging world with a new blog entry!

This is not for my requirement in my Lit subject, so I can post anything I like. :p

The past few weeks and the upcoming weeks were and will be as busy as they seem to be. Requirements popping in and out everyday, having an upcoming Christmas concert, studying for upcoming long test(s), preparing for (required) caroling nights and for my research papers. What a fruitful month indeed, December.

But as I "reviewed" and reflected on all the things that I did for this year, I felt terribly sorry for myself for not being able to enjoy 2010:

For one, I miss my family terribly, although I am kind of used to it;

Second, my high school friends had already changed, and the spark that lit the friendship that was supposed to be there was already gone in just a few series of months (but thankfully the friendship still exists);

Third, I was not able to perform academically well during my first semester here in the Ateneo because I had a hard time adjusting to the overwhelmingly new environment (although my teachers and the guidance counselors consider my grade already "high") O_O;

Fourth, even if I'm in a Catholic school where everything was supposed to be perfectly religious, everyone around me treated religion as a mere "responsibility" instead of making it a medium of praising God;

and lastly, I tried not to change, but I can't. (and that was so stupid of me)

I do not know where in the world I placed myself. When I was an outsider, I used to think that Ateneo was the perfect school for me. Now that I'm an Atenean, I thought that everything would be perfect, but still it's not.

One perfect conclusion: Nothing material is perfect.

So back to the subject. 2010 is the year that I graduated high school. 2010 is the year that all of my efforts during those gruelling 4 years are recognized. 2010 is the year I entered one of the prestigious universities in the world. 2010 is the year when everything of me changed entirely. 2010 is the year when all of my emotional affinities are gone. 2010 is the year when I ended up being alone.

But then again, sometimes being special means you need to be alone. But that's a joke. :))

I'll keep you posted for more (exaggerated details) on my 2010! Thanks for reading! :p
